Virtual Hosted Desktops
Cloud desktop, remote desktop, web desktop, virtual desktop, hosted desktop or online desktop - you decide.
With a virtual hosted desktop, users can work on their own virtual hosted desktop anywhere, using any device.
Virtual Hosted Desktop
A traditional desktop limits the user by allowing them to only work on their desktop on a particular computer.
A virtual hosted desktop gives you additional choice because you can work from your current machine, one of our pre configured thin client devices, a Mac or even an iPad.
What is a Virtual Hosted Desktop?
When Windows first opens, the screen you see is your ‘desktop’. You may have some links on it to software. You probably have a Start button on the left and the time on the right. Your software is available from this desktop. Your files and folders are easily available too. It may have been tweaked to work in just the way you prefer.
Your ‘desktop’ is probably worked on using a computer or laptop.
With a virtual hosted desktop, your ‘desktop is available but is no longer linked only to a specific computer or laptop.
A Virtual Hosted Desktop Where You Need It
A virtual hosted desktop will help whether you travel a lot, or simply prefer to get some additional work done in the peace and quiet of your home. You can work with your known software, data, layouts etc whether on a PC at the office, a Mac at home, a spare PC in the library or in another office or your iPad.
The Virtual Hosted Desktop Capacity You Need
With a virtual desktop, you can rent the capacity needed by each user. Most virtual desktop users will find the lower spec desktop adequate while users running resource hungry reports or using applications with specific requirements can benefit from all the resource they need.
Virtual Desktops Are Best When:
- You use software that requires a lot of ‘punch’
- Groups of users need exactly the same software
- You need scalable resources – easily scaling up and down
If everyone uses the same software, our virtual server service may be of interest.
